This course meets the requirement for a Virginia State Concealed Handgun Permit

Course Length - 2 hours

Course Goal

“To provide potential concealed handgun permit holders with an introduction to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed handgun safely.”

Lessons

1. The four rules of gun safety.
2. Ammunition - the difference between defensive ammunition and practice ammunition
3. The difference between a revolver and semiautomatic pistol.
4. How to safely load and unload a revolver and semiautomatic pistol (using dummy ammunition).
5. The dos and don'ts of  concealed carry concealed carry in Virginia.
   
    

Prerequisites    

The are no prerequisites for taking this course.
   

Course Completion    

Students will receive a course certificate upon successful completion of the lessons that meets the requirement for proof of training for a Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit.
   
The course will include a handout with information on the above mentioned topics and others. As always, once class is completed we are more than willing to stay and answer any questions you may have. The class is kept small in size to insure everyone gets hands on time with the various firearms and that all questions are asked and answered. This course is offered frequently throughout the month (days, evenings and weekend dates are scheduled).
